Moving to Trophy Club, TX: A Local's Guide

If Trophy Club keeps showing up in your home search, your saved posts, or your "what if we moved…" conversations, this guide is for you.

I'm Alyssa Hidalgo, a Trophy Club resident and a North Texas Realtor for more than 11 years. My family chose Trophy Club, and when friends ask me what it's really like to live here, this is what I tell them.

The short version: Trophy Club is a small town with an identity all its own, right next door to Southlake and Westlake. You get one big neighborhood where people walk, wave, and know each other, plus the restaurants, shopping, and airport of the whole Metroplex within half an hour. Not everyone wants to spend $3 million to live near Southlake. You don't have to. Here, your budget can stretch a lot further.

Where is Trophy Club, and how close is everything?

Trophy Club sits right on Highway 114 in Denton County, with Westlake just across the road and Southlake one exit down. That location is the secret. Here's how long it takes me to get places from our home:

From Trophy Club to…Minutes by car
Westlake, Entrada & Life Time5
Southlake Town Square8
Keller10
Central Market Southlake10
Grapevine Lake12–15
Historic Downtown Grapevine15
DFW International Airport22
Downtown Fort Worth25–30
Downtown Dallas25–30

Honestly, if you live in parts of Southlake, it can take you just as long to get to Town Square as it takes me from Trophy Club. These are approximate driving times in light traffic. Travel times vary by neighborhood, destination, and time of day.

What's it like to live in Trophy Club?

It feels like one big neighborhood. People are out walking their dogs, kids ride bikes to the park, and neighbors actually stop to talk. You can live most of your week without leaving town: we have our own grocery store, restaurants, doctors, a chiropractor, and a couple of great spots for a night out.

  • Get outside: wooded trails at Trophy Club Park, sidewalks made for evening walks, and Grapevine Lake 12 to 15 minutes away
  • Kids and play: Saturday baseball at Independence Park, pickleball at Harmony Park, and a community pool and splash pad
  • Golf: Trophy Club Country Club, right in town
  • Town events: the Trophy Club Harvest Festival is Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Independence Park East, with hayrides, live music, and local vendors

Local favorites in Trophy Club

You'll be surprised how much is right here. A few of our family's favorites:

  • Dan's Bagels: I've been to New York, and these are just as good. Get the lox. Dan's ranked No. 7 on Yelp's list of the top 50 bagel spots in the U.S. and Canada, the only one in Texas.
  • Starwood Cafe: our birthday breakfast spot
  • Anamia's Tex Mex: get the jalapeño margarita
  • HG Sply Co.: indoor-outdoor, the game on, room for kids to play, and a drink with friends, all in one place
  • Leela's Wine Bar: a beautiful spot with a great espresso martini and surprisingly great pizza
  • The Social Oak: our date night, minutes from home. Wine on tap and a crab cake that shocked us.
  • More in town: Hutchins BBQ, Cristina's Fine Mexican, Fish & Knife Japanese, Komrai Thai & Boba, Thai Taste, Rosati's Pizza, Hot & Creamy Donuts, Magnolia Bar and Grill, and Big Chill Ice Cream

And that's just Trophy Club. Trophy Club Town Center adds apartments, townhomes, a hotel, and shops at Highway 114 and Trophy Club Drive, and Southlake and Westlake are 5 to 8 minutes away.

How much are homes in Trophy Club?

In October 2026, the 51 homes listed for sale in Trophy Club averaged $865,951, or about $257 per square foot (HAR.com). Prices change month to month, so ask me for current numbers on the street you love.

What you'll find here: established neighborhoods with mature trees and sidewalks, larger lots than many newer communities nearby, and a mix of homes that are already renovated and homes ready for your own touch. In my experience, a budget that buys a home needing updates in Southlake often buys a finished, move-in-ready home in Trophy Club.

Why that matters with us: my husband Hector runs Cornerstone Construction, a remodeling company that has renovated hundreds of homes, and Cornerstone Roofing. We've flipped our own homes since 2017. So when we tour a house together, we can explain the inspection report in plain language, tell you what's a real issue, and what it will actually cost to fix. In Texas, the roof matters.

Renovation estimates depend on the property and scope of work. Consult licensed inspectors and qualified specialists for inspections and repair advice. View Trophy Club market information on HAR.com.

What school district is Trophy Club in?

Trophy Club is served by Northwest ISD. The district's Byron Nelson High School opened in 2009 and sits right in Trophy Club at 2775 Bobcat Blvd. Its feeder middle schools include Medlin Middle and John M. Tidwell Middle.

School boundaries change, so always confirm the schools for a specific address with Northwest ISD before you buy. I'm happy to help you check.

Is Trophy Club a good place to live?

For my family, it's been the best of both worlds: a small town where we know our neighbors, with everything Southlake, Westlake, and the whole Metroplex offer just minutes away. If you want space, community, and a smart value without giving up convenience, put Trophy Club at the top of your list.

You don't need a moving date to start the conversation. Come grab a coffee with me, drive the neighborhoods, and see if you can picture your life here.
